March Highlights

As spring arrives and the days start to get sunnier and longer, there’s plenty going on in London to embrace the new season. Why not take a stroll around London’s best parks and gardens as they start to burst with colour, check out the city’s best restaurants or sink a drink in one of London’s neon-filled bars. March in London 2019 is also the month of Pancake Day, International Women’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Mother’s Day.

London Coffee Festival– Returning for 2019, the London Coffee Festival is the UK’s largest coffee and artisan food event, a celebration of London’s vibrant coffee culture featuring gourmet coffee, speciality tea, artisan food, demonstrations from world-class baristas, live music… Thursday March 28th –Sunday March 31st 2019.

St Patrick`s Day In London – London’s Irish community heads to Trafalgar Square to celebrate their patron saint – and everyone’s invited. This year, a three-day extravaganza is taking place from Fri Mar 15 to Sun Mar 17 and it is set to see over 125,000 turning out for Irish food, dancing and a giant parade featuring pageantry, floats and music.

International Woman’s Day– International Women’s Day takes place every year on March 8 (a Friday in 2019) to celebrate and commemorate the countless achievements of women around the world. It’s also a time to recognise the many gender inequalities that still exist today, and talk about what we can do to create a fairer, more balanced world.P

Orchids festival at Kew– Kew Gardens’ celebration of the orchid returns for its twenty-fourth year, this time with a focus on the plant life of Colombia. Kew’s Orchids festival will see the botanical gardens’ tropical greenhouse bursting with colourful species, and in 2019 they will reflect the country’s diverse landscape – from tropical beaches to snow-capped mountains.
