September Highlights

Think that September is just the damp end of summer? Think again. It’s still warm enough to enjoy some of outdoor London, pop-ups continue to provide food, booze and fun, and there are tons of great autumn events to enjoy. There’s also the month-long Totally Thames festival to dip into, and anyone desperate to get indoors should check the excellent Open House London weekend.

Totally Thames– Totally Thames is an annual season of surprising, diverse and accessible arts and culture throughout the month of September. The programme is curated and managed by the Thames Festival Trust, with activity taking place on, beneath, and along the River Thames.The month-long programme runs along the 42-mile stretch of the Thames through working collaboratively with artists, local communities, river interest organisations and businesses. 1st  – 30 September .2019

Open House London– Celebrate London’s architectural wonders as Open House London throws open the doors of more than 800 buildings and spaces around the capital.Enjoy free access to public buildings, private houses, churches, museums, schools and offices, and join tours, guided walks and activities throughout the weekend.  From 21 September 2019 to 22 September 2019

London Mithraeum– It’s London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE returns the Roman Temple of Mithras to the location of its discovery in the heart of the City. The site lies over the course of one of London’s lost rivers, the Walbrook. Nearly 2,000 years ago when Londinium was founded by the Romans, this river marked the limits of their first settlement. In the 3rd century AD, nearly 200 years after the founding of London, a Roman Londoner, built a temple to the god Mithras on this reclaimed ground, next to the river.

London Design Festival  – London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. Now in its sixteen year, the Festival will be returning to venues and institutions across the city. Explore a range of creative installations and events celebrating a contemporary design. During the festival, hundreds of large-scale installations, exhibitions and events pop up in many unique spaces across London, from world-famous museums to small local studios. From 14 September 2019 to 22 September 2019.

Sushisamba  – Located on the 38th and 39th floors at 110 Bishopsgate, Sushisamba Liverpool Street features the highest outdoor dining terraces in Europe, offering unparalleled, 360 degree views of the City. Two panoramic glass elevators whisk patrons from the ground to the 39th floor, opening up London from inside-out as the lifts climb further and further upwards.
